A richly detailed printed cotton inspired by the colors and imagery of historic Dunhuang murals. The design brings together figures, lotus flowers, decorative vessels, architectural details and flowing ornamental forms in layered shades of turquoise, ochre, rust, blue and weathered beige.
Woven from 20-count cotton yarn, this fabric has a natural plain-weave character with a softly structured hand. At approximately 135 gsm, it is light to medium weight and suitable for garments or projects that benefit from some body without feeling heavy. It would work beautifully for relaxed shirts, simple dresses, gathered skirts, statement panels, patchwork garments, bags and decorative sewing projects.
Please note that the fabric is narrower than standard garment-width fabrics, so pattern placement and cutting layout should be planned accordingly.
